Poltergeist
This movie is a remake of the 1982 successful Poltergeist film but this one was in 3D.  The storyline is basically the same as before.  Eric Bowen was recently laid off when he and his family move into a new home that had just become available and in their price range.
Eric (Sam Rockwell), his wife Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt), oldest daughter Kendra (Saxon Sharbino), son Griffin (Kyle Catlett), and youngest daughter Madison (Kennedi Clements) realize something isn’t right when on the first night they hear noises in the walls.  During the commotion one night, Griffin awakens and goes downstairs to find Madison talking to the TV.  He unplugs it and things go haywire in the house with lights, radio and other devices getting turned on and off.  Madison then calmly states the famous words from the past movie “They are here”.
One night while Eric and Amy are out, Kendra’s phone begins making noises, and Griffin is attacked by one of the clown dolls that were found in the house.  He escapes to Madison’s room to find her crouched in a corner.  Griffin goes to find Kendra as Madison is lured into the closet and into another dimension.
The original Poltergeist was quite good and the acting was as well.  The second movie was not up to par and 3D didn’t help.  The special effects were not very good nor was the acting.  This was one movie that shouldn’t have been remade.   If you liked the original, do not watch this one because it isn’t worth your time.  Go rent the first edition instead.  It’s in blue ray and still is fantastic.   I gave this movie 1 out of 4 stars.

No Good Deed

This movie stars Idris Elba as an escaped prisoner and Taraji P. Henson as a stay at home mom whose house the escapee decides to visit.
I didn’t really care for this movie and thought it was one of the worst of the year.  I know not everyone will agree but that was my opinion.  I gave this movie 1 out of 4 stars.

A Million Ways to Die in the West

I think this was one of the worst movies I have seen.  It’s directed by Seth Macfarlane who starred in it as well.  It also stars Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, and Amanda Seyfried.  It’s comedy about life in the West.

The movie sounded like it would be hilarious but it was a waste of my time and will be your time wasted as well if you choose to sit through it.  I gave this movie 1 out of 4 stars.

Transformers: Age of Extinction

This movie stars the great Mark Wahlberg.  That however didn’t help the lousy story line that made this movie.   The special effects were spectacular but overall this movie had nothing more to add.  Since it starred Mark Wahlberg I had high hopes but the movie fell short.  The movie was directed by Michael Bay who I think should stick to special effects because he isn’t a good director.  I gave this movie 1 out of 4 stars.

As Above/So Below

The first 15 minutes of this movie had me very intrigued.  But after that the movie went way downhill.

This movie took place in France.  An archeologist, played by Perdita Weeks, was searching for the Philosopher’s Stone while carrying on her dead father’s legacy.   She gets together with a cameraman (Edwin Hodge), and an old friend (Ben Feldman) as well as a group of friends in France who know their way around the catacombs.  As they walk around below France in the catacombs, they see things that have happened to them above ground in the past.

Overall I was completely bored by this horrific and unchallenging movie.  I only gave this movie 1 out of 4 stars.

Mom’s Night Out

This movie stars Patricia Heaton, Sarah Drew, and Sean Astin.  It was one of the worst films that has been made in a long time.   It really had no substance at all and I would highly recommend that you stick with watching Patricia Heaton on The Middle.

I gave this movie only 1 out of 4 stars.

The Giver

Usually Meryl Streep movies are wonderful.  I thought The Giver was not so much.  It also stars the great Jeff Bridges.  Taylor Swift also had a role in this film but it was only for a brief second. I kept waiting for the movie to catch momentum but it never happened.

Everyone is comparing this movie with Divergent and the idea was similar.  However, I loved Divergent and did not enjoy The Giver.  There was just nothing to hang on to in this film.  After about 30 minutes, I was totally bored and uninterested with everything in this uninspired movie.

I just felt that this movie was not worth anyone’s time.  I gave this movie 1 out of 4 stars.

Into the Storm

This movie was so disappointing I don’t know where to start.  The imagery in this movie was tremendous but the acting was really lacking.  Nathan Kress from iCarly and Sarah Wayne Callies from the Walking Dead were the only two good actors in this movie.

Into the Storm simply sucked.  I can’t even describe how bad this movie is but my advice is to not pay any money to watch this movie at the theatre.  Rent the movie Twister if you want to see a movie about tornadoes.  I give that movie 1 out 4 stars.

RoboCop

A robotics company is seeking to bring its technology American Law Enforcement by transforming a critically ill police officer. Gary Oldman, Samuel L Jackson and the great Michael Keaton are all tremendous in their roles in this movie.  My only question is- why do we need another RoboCop?  I think this is one of the most ridiculous movies I have seen in many years!

I gave this movie 1/4.

A Million Ways to Die in the West

Seth McFarlane is a very talented man because he directed the great movie Ted and Family Guy.  However, this was a poorly written film that really only had a few humorous points.

Albert (McFarlane) is a sheep farmer that is always in trouble. He also is dating a girl who is played by Amanda Seyfried.  She suddenly decides that she doesn't want to pursue any further relationship with McFarlane, so she starts dating a snob, who is played by Neil Patrick Harris.

When Anna (Charlize Theron) comes home, her husband, Clinch (Liam Neeson) is the most feared gunfighters in the West.  And so, from here, the movie takes off.

I am sorry to say that I only gave this movie 1/4 stars.
