Transcendence

Johnny Depp is one of the best actors working today. No matter if he's playing a pirate, a scientist or just walking on the street, he always turns in the top notch performance. Depp plays a brainy individual and once again I love him in this part.

Depp plays Dr. Will Carter, a renowned scientist, who’s married to Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) another scientist. Their dream is to build a special independent network that transcends of all the problems in the physical world. At the encouragement of his wife Evelyn, Carter makes a speech to the public about all of their findings and to encourage people to agree on what the future holds. Dr. Carter gets done with this speech and is signing autograph, when he is shot by an assassin. He iss rushed to the hospital and it turns out there was no physical damages.

Dr. Carter returns home from the hospital the just goes straight to bed. But he wakes up he ends up in the bathroom with something wrong.  Evelyn decides to take him to the hospital because something is not right and they discover that yes they did remove the bullet, but  poison has run all through his body. They tell him he only has one month to live. Carter then just wants to get out of the hospital.

In a month Dr.Carter passes away, but he has all of his scientific work stored in a computer, where he feels he can return to life through the technology phase.
Kate Mara whose character runs the RIFT organization is wonderful in her role, I like the fact that somehow she makes sense but  she's out of control. They are being chased by Morgan Freeman another pioneer researcher and an FBI agent played by Cillian Murphy who starred as Scarecrow in the latest Batman series.

I thought that Trancendence was not  well directed. Wally Pfister will probably direct better movies but you never know. I thought that Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, Kate Mira, Rebecca Hall and Cillian Murphy are all okay but this is a terribly written script.

I give this movie two out of four stars
