Endless Love

Well there we go again another remake of the movie from the 1980’s and when the first Endless Love came out I went to see it with a girl. It was one of the worst movies of all time Brooke Shields is horrible in this role even though it was one of her earliest roles.

Alex Pettyfer as David he is the son of a mechanic and he is very attracted to Jade played by Gabriella Wilde. They seem to have a strong connection to one another.
Once they graduate from high school she decides to have a huge party at her house with her parents on hand. Bruce Greenwood is great in his roll as the overly protective father of Jade, even though her brother and mother both adore him he still worries. Greenwood is overprotective because he already lost a son in an accident.

Endless Love is much better than the first movie which isn’t saying much. I gave this movie 2 out of 4 stars. I thought the acting between the mother and father was very good. But I just can’t rate it any higher than I did.

I give Endless Love 2 out of 4 stars

Robocop

Robocop stars Joel Kinnaman as the fighting force of the future, where he can not be destroyed. Robocop was built by Gary Oldman who is a brilliant scientist who sits back concurring meets with the ultimate super cop and he is being financed by the great Michael Keaton who is a brilliant business owner who is completely capable on the inside.

The original Robocop I thought was a genius creation by some brilliant film makers. Peter Weller was extraordinary and natural as Robocop and he will never be equaled.

I thought the movie was horribly written and also it was horribly directed I don't understand why this film has been made.  Also the new Robocop Joel Kinnaman will probably be better in significant roles but he is not good in this performance.

Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman and Samuel L Jackson are all terrific in the roles they are given to be in. Once again superior actors, a terrible script, and horrible directing.

The only reason I'm giving this movie one and a half stars is because of Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman and Samuel L Jackson.

I gave Robocop 1 1/2 stars out of four.

The Lego Movie

The Lego Movie I think was quite brilliant with all kinds of different things with this star studded cast. Voices by Will Ferrell, Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman and many others are all stars of this terrific movie.

Emmet (Chris Pratt) is a construction worker whose call quality is a sign of sheer boredom, but he thinks of himself as quite exciting. He is a standard worker and he loves sports, basketball, football, baseball are all sports he goes to. Suddenly Emmet comes across an artifact known as a Piece of Resistance who's brought to the forefront Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman). They come under the President Business (Will Ferrell) who threatens the Lego’s with an apocalypse that will threaten the entire population.

Suddenly Emmet besides with Batman voice by Will Arnett, Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks) and Wonder Woman all come in the battle with Bad Cop (voice by Liam Neeson) about the whole good versus evil.
Now whether you have seen it in 3-D or regular version I think it's clearly better  in 3-D but anyway is still worth seeing no matter what viewing.

I thought the Lego movie was fantastic all the characters were terrific in quite over-the-top fun. From Will Arnett who is hilarious as playing the dark Knight, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth banks, and Morgan Freeman are all terrific in their great roles. I gave this movie 3 1/2 out of four stars don't miss it it's great for you and the kids.

I gave the Lego movie 3 1/2 out of four stars.

A Winter's Tale

A Winter's Tale stars Colin Farrell as a recent formed criminal who has found the error of his ways especially when he meets up with Beverly (Jessica Brown Finley). As soon as he sees her he immediately falls in love with her and how beautiful she really is. Beverly is very sick and she is just waiting to pass on to a better world.

Pearly (Russell Crowe) comes into the room looking very grouchy and he always has that weird glaze in his eyes. Colin Farrell and his girlfriend find the power the holds their love in all their lives together and never ends. Even when Farrell gets transferred into the future he realizes just how big their love really is.

I thought this movie had some high points to it and also sub points that really didn't make any sense. Colin Farrell was pretty good in this role so was Jennifer Connelly, Finley, and Russell Crowe but I just wanted more out of their parts and I just didn't get it.

I thought this movie was okay I just wanted more than what I got the thought of their performances should have been much better. I gave this movie two out of four stars.

3 Days To Kill

Well here comes Kevin Costner in January he released Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Three Days to Kill and Draft Day. This presents some pressure on Costner's career because it's been quite a long time before he's had a huge release at the box office. He also released the movie called Hatfields & McCoy's that I actually really enjoyed.

Kevin Costner plays Ethan the veteran agent just completed his last task. Then after he runs his last task there is a problem at the hotel. There are some explosions and Costner has to make his way back to the hotel. His new control agents that are played by stiletto heeled Amber Heard and she has offered him to finish one more massacre and then he can retire and also he can take some experimental medicine to help him relieve his migraine headaches that are going to kill him in a few months. He agrees because of can take this medicine than prolong his life he can spend more time with his wife who’s estranged and his daughter.
Ethan wants to live more years that's why he agrees to go back to Paris.  He does not only see his wife but also his daughter and he can also try to catch the terrorists as well. His estranged wife (Connie Nielsen) and his daughter he hardly knows played by Hailee Steinfeld who starred in True Grit. Ethan really wants to get to know these two women because his wife and his daughter have both grown-up a lot.

I have to admit I don’t care for Kevin Costner, he's not one of my favorite actors but I thought he was incredible in this role. I also liked some of the laughs in this movie that came around when you didn't expect it, and I liked the action in this terrific thriller. This movie was directed by Mr. G but I love the chemistry between the director and Kevin Costner I thought it was terrific.

I really enjoy spending time watching this movie once again it's not perfect but I still gave it three out of four stars.

About Last Night

About Last Night is a remake of the terrific romantic movie of the same name that came out in 1980s. That movie starred, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, James Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins, I thought they all were really terrific actors in their roles, and I applaud all the performances. Now with the updated version I can tell you this movie is a terrible piece of junk.

Kevin Hart, Regina Hall, Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant all star in the play “About Last Night” And then in the 80’s it was called “Sexual Perversity in Chicago.” and opened pretty strong in the box office.

Here it comes again with Kevin Hart and Regina Hall open as the main couple of this movie. In this updated movie Hart and Hall and pick up and form a relationship that is damaging and quite physical as well, even though they actually love each other. Now the roles Danny (Ealy) and Debbie (Bryant) are set in the background with very little parts between them. This is just one of the problems that make this movie so awful because it's not even close to the original movie.

I didn’t like the version of this movie at all. I didn't mind the actors that had a better part in this movie. I didn't get why they change it all around why didn't they stick to the same formula and the original movie.

I only gave this movie one star out of four

The Vampire Academy

This is Rose Hathaway she is a creature that is half human half vampire. They are guardians of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discretely within our world. Her role is to protect the Moroi from other bloodthirsty vampires.

I thought this movie was much better than expected. Most of my fellow film critics will not agree with this but I thought this movie was pretty good. I thought the acting was interesting especially Rose Hathaway who I think is very funny and endearing to watch. The director Mark Waters I think did an excellent job of directing this cast that had some very funny parts in it and some scary parts as well.

I give this movie three out of four stars, this isn’t a perfect movie but I really enjoyed sitting through this film but check your brain at the door.

The Monument Men

The Monument Men is the latest creation in George Clooney's land of hits with a bunch popular co stars to make this movie. Clooney wrote it, produced it, directed and stars in it along with Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, and is Cate Blanchette plus many other co stars that make this lineup quite impressive.

In the Monument Men its surrounds the theft of many works of art that just disappeared off the face of the earth.  George Clooney knows where they are so he goes on hand to bring in everyone who knows exactly where the relics are. There are only seven people who know where all the artifacts actually are. So they go on a journey to discover where all these treasures are.

This is an outstanding movie that I thought was even better than I thought it was going to be. The chemistry between all these characters was just amazing. Clooney does an excellent job of directing the entire cast and of course his acting I think is just as good as ever.

I gave this movie 3 ½ out of four stars.

I, Frankenstein

Aaron Eckardt (Frankenstein) is one of the best actors working in the business today; he's had roles in The Dark Knight films, Thank You for Smoking and many other great films. The movie is an overall great choice, but it didn't have the run role the people would ask about no matter what the feature was. Eckardt is a great actor but he just hasn't gotten the role that people will recognize him for.

I, Frankenstein didn't prove strength in the box office because this movie is not even worth the time that you spend watching. The movie is horribly directed, it's horribly written, and the performance that involves an awesome cast just doesn't come together.

I gave this movie one out of four stars.

Labor Day

This is the time of the season where new movies lease and the first of the month really isn't noteworthy. But all of a sudden here comes a movie called Labor Day and I thought this movie was pretty good especially since it stars Kate Winslet.

Adele (Kate Winslet) stars as a woman who is recently divorced and she shares custody of her son with her ex-husband. Henry (Gattlin Griffith) her son is there to help her and learn to grow and how to forget her painful past.

Frank (Josh Brolin) is an escaped convict who goes up to Henry and asks him for assistance. But Henry realizes he is being taken hostage by Frank and so is his mother. Frank is an unassuming man who just wants to stay a couple of days at their house and then he is going to move on. Adele and Frank take a liking to each other, and he also gets close to her and her son Henry.

After only a few days Frank and Adele decide to move away and Henry is excited to go with them. The local police officers led by James Vanderbeek are on the trail of capturing Frank. Eventually Frank is captured and Adele stays in their current home but she lets her son move in with his father.

I thought director Jason Reitman did a great job of directing all these characters in this movie. Of course the great Kate Winslet's in this film is always a strong point. I also like the chemistry between Winslet and Josh Brolin.

I gave this movie three out of four stars.
